Are any of you familiar with the name - Jane Austin? Or have any of you watched the famous Netflix series "Bridgerton"?
It's actually been a while since the release of "Brigderton" and we always felt like we wanna make a tutorial of the Regency Era clothing for our dolls... And due to the lockdown in Auckland we finally have the time to do so~
Things you'll be needing for this particular project are...
- Fabric of your choice
- Tulle fabric for lining (optional)
- Needle & thread
- Scissors
- Sewing machine (highly recommended)
- Water erasable pen
Also things you might need~
- Iron-on adhesive
- Iron
Step by step instructions :
1. Print out this paper pattern...
*please noted that this pattern is only for Barbie original body type*
Also please measure the 1cm at the up right corner to make sure it's the right size~
The measurement for the skirt will be 21cm X 21cm...😊
2. Trace pattern onto fabric...
Don't forget to leave some gaps in between of each pieces for allowances... >.<
Then cut them out with allowances and layout everything to make sure there are no missing pieces... >.<
3. Attach back and front pieces together...
Start by pinning the shoulder line of the back and front piece right side to right side...
Then sew them together...
4. Time for ironing~
Preheat the iron for a bit, then flatten out the seam allowances... Set aside~
Make notches on the sleeves' outer seam...
Fold in and iron to secure in place....
After that use iron on adhesive to glue the hem together...
5. Sew on the lining...
With a piece of tulle layout to the right side of the top and pin to secure in place...
Sew along the neckline slowly and carefully as there are few curves that need to be precisely done...
Trim and make notches at the curves...
6. Sew the darts...
Sew the darts which is where the red line indicated...
7. Secure the lining...
Fold in the tulle... and use pin to secure in place...
Sew them together...
8. Attach the sleeves onto the top...
Make notches along the curve line and pin them together right side to right side...
Sew them together... And then fold in and sew again...
9. Sew the front and back together...
10. Attach the skirt with the top...
Turn the right side out... Pin the skirt and the top together right side to right side...
And for this particular project, only do the pleats at the back like how it showed in the picture... after everything is done, sew them together...
11. Attach zip on the back and hem all edges...
And it's done~
