After making the lemon dress, we immediately fell in love with it, so we decided to make more lemon dress!!!
This lemon dress came with different design, so which design do you prefer???
Things you'll need for this project are...
- Sewing machine (highly recommended)
- Fabric of your choice
- Scissors
- Water erasable pen
- Sewing pin
- Velcro tape
- Pattern from the previous tutorial
And this is how we make it...
1. Draw the pattern onto fabric...
Draw the paper pattern from the last tutorial but this time we arrange and draw them in a different order...
This time we'll draw the top back piece as a whole and divided the top front into 2 separate pieces...
Also we need a strap of fabric as the strap and a piece of fabric for the bottom part...
I took 6cm x 0.5cm for the strap (only one side),
and 30cm x 13cm for the bottom...
And that's all the parts that we need...
2. Sew the top pieces and the strap...
Start by pinning the top back and front pieces together, also the edge of the strap...
Then carefully sew the top part together and hem both edges of the strap~
After that, trim off the excess and cut the strap in half...
3. Sew the top as whole...
Pin the top edge along with the strap... Sew with care...
4. Continue making with the bottom part...
Start by pinning one edge of the bottom and hem that edge...
As for the other edge, I'm using gathering function on the sewing machine to make ruffles...
5. Attach the top and bottom part together...
Pin them right side to right side and sew them together...
6. Sew on velcro tape~
Sew on the velcro tape and hem the edges of the dress during the process~
7. At last, handstitched on the strap...
I'm adding some buttons for extra details but it's totally up to you...
And you're DONE!!!
