It's been awhile since we last uploaded a Ken doll clothes tutorial~ So we decided to make a jacket for them~
Instead of a casual collar jeans jacket... We decided to make a Crewneck Jeans Jacket...
Hopefully you guys love this tutorial, so let's get started!!!
These are what you'll need for this project :
- Jeans fabric of your choice
- Needle & thread
- Scissors
- Water erasable pen
- Sewing pin
- Sewing machine (highly recommended)
- Scrap paper for pattern making
How to make...
1. First, draw the pattern...
Lay your model on scrap paper and roughly draw out the basic shape of the body...
Then based on the sketch, draw out the pattern... Try the pattern on model to make sure it fits~
2. Transfer the pattern onto fabric...
After confirming the pattern is right, transfer the pattern onto fabric with water erasable pen...
Layout everything to make sure there are no missing pieces, this way also prevent from having any misdrawn pieces...
3. Start by sewing the body pieces...
Begin with pinning the back and front body pieces together and sew with care...
After that sew on 2 lines as decorations... I'm using different colored thread for this...
Repeat on the other side~
4. Sew on the sleeves...
Make some notches for easier handling to sew on the sleeves...
Pin to secure the sleeves in place before sewing, then sew with extra care...
Hem the cuff of the sleeves... also I sew on some lines for extra details...
5. Sew the back and front together...
6. Hem the neck edge...
Roughly trim around the neck edge and make some notches around the neck edge for easier sewing... Pin and hem the edge with care...
7. Hem all edges...
Hem the side edges, and then the bottom edge...
And you're DONE~
